Note that in OBS Studio v26.1 on macOS, if you already have the original version of the virtual camera plugin from johnboiles, you may need to uninstall it first before using the built-in version of the plugin: Make sure OBS is closed, and then do the following: Open a new Finder window Hit. Setup OBS, with optional chroma key (guide here). In OBS select ‘Tools’ from the top menu, then ‘VirtualCam’. Click the ‘Start’ button. Optionally check ‘AutoStart’ if you want to have VirtualCam start whenever OBS is running. Current OBS does not natively support Mac OS 10.15 (Catalina), however, there is a workaround before it’s supported: Open Terminal application (you can find it in the Spotlight Search) In the window that opens, paste in the following code, then press Enter.
System Requirements for OBS Studio
Obs Mac Os
OBS Studio needs your system to be implemented with specific software and hardware components. A system that fails to meet these requirements may cause errors and prevent installation.
Windows Machines
OBS Studio requires your system to have Windows 8 or a newer version installed to run the Windows Machines software. Your plan must also have a graphics card with support for DirectX 10.1, as needed, to carry out multimedia activities. Depending on your machine, you can choose either of the 32-bit or 64-bit versions.
Mac Machines

On Mac computers, the live streaming application needs macOS 10.13 or later versions. Also, your system must be powered by an Intel processor. The developers suggest OBS Studio is not designed for Mac machines running on PowerPC processors. For multimedia handling, you will need OpenGL 3.3 compatible GPU.
Linux Machines

Points to Consider When Using OBS Studio for Professional Video Making
Obs Download For Chromebook
OBS Studio is a robust software for video recording and live streaming. It captures videos in HD quality and lets you decide the length of your videos. The resultant files will therefore need a significant amount of free space on your local disk. You will have to look for a good storage option before your disc runs out of space. Also, as we have discussed, it is an open-source program. This means you can increase its capabilities with additional software plugins and scripts. However, every step you take to enhance the performance and functionality of OBS Studio will result in the need for scaling up the resources.
